GULSHIRIN DUBASH is originally from Bombay, India. Having gotten her MFA in Ensemble based Physical Theatre from the Dell’Arte School of Physical Theatre she works with the pedagogy of theatre practitioner Jacques Lecoq (physical theatre, commedia dell’Arte, melodrama, clown, street theatre, devised work) and has performed at several festivals and institutions in India and the US. Having a strong interest in Eastern forms of theatre and the Anthropology of Theatre, she started studying noh with Rick Emmert (Kita School) and the late Mitsuo Kama (Ko School) in 2003 at the Noh Training Project and joined Theatre Nohgaku in 2008. She is primarily a free-lance artist and has taught theatre at institutions such as the University of Michigan, Notre Dame University, University of Georgia (Athens), Beloit College, and the British Council.
